The EAs people actually ask for

The Top EAs page is a short list inside the library: files whose names match expert advisors that are widely discussed, sold elsewhere, or constantly requested in trading groups. It exists because that is what most visitors search for first. This post explains how the list is built and how to treat a famous name sensibly.

How a file gets onto Top EAs

The page is not a ranking by performance. There is no performance data on this site at all. A file is shown here when its name matches a curated list of EA names that people search for, meaning robots that have a public reputation, a commercial version, or a long history in forums. When the channel posts a file with one of those names, it appears here automatically.

So "top" means recognised. It does not mean tested, verified, current or the genuine build.

Known name, unknown file

Popular EAs get copied, decompiled, re-uploaded and renamed more than any other files in the community. A file called after a well-known robot might be:

  • the real thing, shared by someone who bought it,
  • an older version that behaves differently from what reviews describe,
  • a decompiled build with inputs stripped or changed,
  • something unrelated that borrowed the name for attention.

None of that is visible from the name. The only reliable step is testing it yourself, exactly as you would with an unknown file.

A five-minute sanity check for a famous EA

  1. Inputs tab. Attach it to a chart and open the inputs. A genuine build usually has the inputs the vendor documents. A stripped decompile often shows a handful of unnamed parameters.
  2. Strategy Tester, one year. If the equity curve is a straight line up with no losing trades, it is almost certainly curve-fitted or a martingale that has not blown up in that sample.
  3. Drawdown, not profit. Look at the maximum drawdown percentage and the largest losing streak. That number tells you the deposit size the EA really needs.
  4. Symbol and timeframe. Famous EAs are tuned to specific pairs. Running a EURUSD M15 robot on gold H1 is not testing the EA, it is testing a random idea.
  5. Demo for weeks, not hours. The demo guide covers lot sizing and what to log.

Where the source code fits

For a handful of well-known robots the site also carries editable source in the top source code section. Source lets you read what the EA really does, change a hard-coded lot size, or recompile it for your broker. That is a paid, separate part of the site, described in the source vault post.

If the one you want is missing

The list only contains what the channel has posted. Search the library for part of the name first, since spellings vary. If it is genuinely not there, the channel takes requests: @freeex4ex5.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Top EAs the most profitable EAs?

No. The page lists files whose names match widely known expert advisors. It says nothing about performance, and the site has no backtest or live data for any file.

Is a free copy of a paid EA legal to use?

That depends on the licence the author attached to it and on where you live. The site indexes what the channel posts and does not sell or modify these files. If a rights holder asks for a listing to be removed, it is removed.

Why does a Top EA show different inputs than the vendor site?

It is probably a different version or a decompiled build. Treat it as an unknown EA and test it from scratch.

Can I request a well-known EA that is not listed?

Yes, requests go to the Telegram channel. If it gets posted, it appears on the site automatically within minutes.
